The Project

 

IEU Logistics Department provides a project course for senior students. In this course, senior students are expected to generate a project about a real life problem with a firm and they work as a team for this project. Moreover, an academic advisor who is a professor in Logistics Department and an industrial advisor who is an employee of the firm help teams. This project covers two semesters of senior grade.

Our academic advisor is Işık Özge YUMURTACI and our industrial partner is EDAK for this project. Onursal Atlı who is the Logistics Manager of the Company, is our industrial advisor. Arzu HIZAL also supports us with his suggestions.

We are asked to write two reports and to make presentations about these reports for the first semester. In the second semester, we will be asked to write a final report and a final presentation to show project outcomes. During the two semesters, we have regular meeting with both academic and industrial advisors.

According to company request; firstly they claim us to make global market analysis. First of all, we search distribution channels in pharmaceutical industry in Turkey and other countries. Then, our aims to determine differences between Turkey and foreign countries and recover missing points and weakness. Secondly, they claim us to determine customer demands and current situation analysis. We decide to prepare a questionnaire with Edak and then make a survey to pharmacies. We will do some new regulation in their distribution channels according to customer demands.

In order to meet the firm’s need, we planned that current system should be analyzed and we generated a current system analysis for the first report. After that, problems are identified in the problem definition part of the first report. After these processes, a solution method is planned with the help of our literature review. We agreed on that some researches and questionnaire can be useful to create a feasible solution for the company.

The aim of this project is to search the possibility of the decisions about making more efficient system for EDAK. The results of the questionnaire will be the main criteria for these decisions.

In this report, processes and practices can be seen from the first report to end of the first semester. In the second section, motivation of the project, problem definition and research questions that is done from the beginning of this project can be seen. In the third section, literature review about our methods. The fourth section is about methodology and challenges and consideration . Deliverables, changes in the project schedules and a revised timeline about second semester will be stated under this title. Future works and references sections can be found in the end of the report.
